Proud and captivating, like a forest in autumn. A loyal rebel, gently instinctive. Faithful, fast, a ride on the wind. Vibrant and wild, a companion for life.
This is my Diavolo Rosso, dedicated to my Irish Setters.

Diavolo Rosso is dedicated to our Irish Setters, known as “red devils” in the dog world: a wine conceived by Nunzio Giovanni Capurso back when he was planting the vineyard. “Proud and fascinating, like a forest in autumn.” We produce it in small quantities, and every bottle is hand-sealed with wax bearing our family emblem.
It is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Croatina and Ancellotta, traditional grape varieties of our area, grown in Valpantena, just outside Verona. The grapes, hand-picked at full ripeness, dry in the fruttaio (drying loft) for about 60 days. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine ages for at least 15 months in 10–25 hl Slavonian oak casks and French oak barriques, where malolactic fermentation takes place naturally, followed by at least 12 months in bottle.
Intense ruby red in colour. The nose is rich and fine, with ripe red fruit, roasted coffee, violet, rose, vanilla and a cascade of spices. On the palate it is dense, warm and soft, with elegant, velvety tannins. Alcohol: 15%.
At the table: it can accompany an entire meal and keeps evolving in the glass. It shows its best with game; also excellent with medium-aged cheeses, cured meats, braised or grilled meat.
How to serve: at 16–18 °C, opening the bottle an hour beforehand. It can be cellared for many years.
Formats: 0.75 L bottle and 1.5 L Magnum, also with its own wooden case.
